I’m going to do a serious blog post now. When Stephen Gately died a few days ago it was unknow how he died. It was a shock and we all naturally thought that there was some foul play of some sort (drug, drink etc) but it has now turned out that he just died of natural causes. It’s really shocked me, he was 33 and he just died. No reason why, just one minute alive, the next he wasn’t. He was a guy with no extra ordinary thing that separates him from us all (except that he could sing better than most of us). It could really happen to any of us. It’s made his death even sadder than it was when it first happened. It’s easy enough to poke fun at some celebrity deaths like Michael Jackson and Jade Goody as they have got elements to their characters that weren’t nice. Stephen Gately on the other hand hasn’t.

Of course this won’t stop the papers and the press digging as much as they can to try and make him not seem like the nice guy he was. They are already trying to point the finger with him claiming that it was because he smoked some weed on the day he died, that was the cause of his death. No, it wasn’t. There’s even a quote from the doctor who did his autopsy that says that. The only problem for the papers is that there is no story if someone just dies of natural causes. It’s too anti-climatic but out of choice it’s the way I’d like to go. Sleep well Stephen Gately!
